I have only been running competitively for the past two and a half years, which I have been told by coaches makes me extremely young for this sport. My times are not where I want them to be but I am working hard each and every day to improve myself as an athlete, student, and a young woman.
As stated above, I am young at this sport and I understand that I have a long way to go to reach my aspirations of being a Collegiate All-American. Being young at this sport does have positives and with an experienced coach, proper advanced training, and my dedication, I know that I will not disappoint. With that said, I have also wanted to be a trauma surgeon since I was in Junior High, so I plan on studying Pre-Med in college.
The past 18-months has been perhaps the most difficult time period in my life coping with the deaths of my mother, (favorite) uncle, and grandmother. Meanwhile, I maintained a 3.9 GPA and competed at a high level. But what I have learned is that if I could get through that adversity, then I cannot see anything stopping me in the future.
I have also dealt with a lot of change in my short lifetime with being an Army brat. I have moved six times in my childhood and I have seen most of the United States. We finally settled down in Utah these last seven years. I want coaches to know that I am going to attend and run for a university outside of Utah. I enjoy seeing the world and experiencing everything that it has to offer.
