Personal Statement
I started track my freshman year, having no idea what the future had held in store for me. My freshman year, I took up with shot put more than most people would have. It was how I let out stress or pain. As I progressed within the years, I focused more and more on techniques and how I could break my schools record for shot put and set my own. My junior year, (This past track season), I met my goal and broke my own personal best in the process, and placing 7th in the state. At that moment, I came to realize without track, lord only knows what terrible things I would have embarked in if my coach wouldn't have suggested track. When I go to college, I want to feel that same way as I progress in the school year.
