I joined the track and field program at my school in 8th grade. For the last two years, I was second in the state of Vermont in Division II for in shot put. Last year, I attended the New England Championship for both shot put and discus. Also, my track team was state champions last year.
I am a leader on the team. I help teammates by teaching and helping them with techniques in both shot put and discus. They look to me for advice at meets when the coach is not at the event.
I always give 100% in both academics and athletics and work hard to succeed at both of them. Athletics are a big part of who I am. I participate in basketball but track and field is my really passion. I have known I wanted to participate in track and field at the college level. All schools that I have explored must have both my major and a track and field program.
