Personal Statement
My name is Danielle Friend and I will be graduating this upcoming spring of 2011 from Ephrata High School in Washington. I played soccer most of my childhood, and was always told that I had great endurance. So when I entered highschool I decided to join the cross country team. I have been running cross country ever since and will participate in my fourth year as a senior. Freshmen-Junior years I was on the Varsity team and received awards such as Runner of the Year and All-Conference First Team. I was also captain of the team my junior year in both cross country and track-I have been on the Varsity Track team since my freshmen year as well. I am an honor roll student with a cummulative GPA of 3.991. Some of the more challenging courses I have taken and will be taking include; Chemistry, Honors English 11, Pre-Calculus, Physics, English 101, CWP, and AP Calculus. Having always challenged myself with my academics and athletics, I am looking for a college that will be the most beneficial for me as a student and an athlete. I want to major in the field of dentistry, so college is going to be very expensive and I will have no financial support from my parents. I'm hoping that my success as a cross country athlete will open scholarship opportunities so that my dream of going to college can be acheived, as well as my aspiration to compete at the collegiate level.
