Personal Statement
My goal is to compete at the college level in my sport, the pole vault. I am looking to major in either interior design or nursing, yet I am also interested in architecture and landscape design. Since middle school, I have considered school a priority and have pushed myself to do as well as possible. My determination to succeed is also present in the sports that I compete in- gymnastics and track & field. Ever since I cleared my first bar, I knew pole vaulting was for me. My history with level 7 gymnastics has prepared me athletically for the challenge of the pole vault, and I look forward to jumping higher every year. I am very driven, and I can take directions well and make corrections to my vault. I get to practice early and stay late, and will work hard and do what is necessary to succeed in my sport. I have high expectations and goals for myself in the pole vault and in school, and most importantly I am passionate about what I do. I live for gymnastics and I live to pole vault and I cannot imagine what my life would consist of without these two passions in my life.
