Personal Statement
Ever since I was young, I've competed in a variety of sports. Freshman year is when I decided to try out cross country and track. I was decent, however, at that time running wasn't my main focus. It wasn't until my sophomore year that I decided I really wanted to apply myself to running and that running is what I wanted to pursue in college. Academic wise, I'm always in honors and AP classes. I feel like a good challenge is full of opportunities whether I'm in the class room or on the track.
Besides running out of pure passion, my mom is a huge reason as to why I run and why I continue to push myself and strive to be the best runner I can be. My mom has multiple sclerosis and is unable to do a lot of physical activity. So whenever I feel like quitting I think about how lucky I am to be able to run.
After High School I'd like to study kinesiology or some other exercise science major. I really like the idea of being around athletics for the rest of my life, and to be able to give back to that community, seeing that sports have given me so much and have shaped me into who I am today.
