Personal Statement

I began to love the sports of cross-country and track my 7th grade year when I tried running for the first time. In sports, I work with the younger athletes and new members of the team to help them get an understanding of the sport. I am also a team captain on this year's track team and am always encouraging others to do their best in their events. I'm also very active in other clubs in activities. Currently, I am the President for my local FFA chapter, along with Sentinel for Washington FFA District VI, and the President of my 4-H Club. I am also the President of the Walla Walla Wagonettes, a horseback drill team. For my junior and senior year, I will be involved with the Running Start program at Walla Walla Community College. My PR's this year are : 2.6 miles-17:23 3 miles- 19:06 5K-19:18

Ran my best race ever in my high school career. Ran in second place with 10 seconds between leader and me until the final hill. I caught up to the leader and passed her with 200 meters left, finishing with a 18:55 3 mile. I put 19 seconds between me and the second place girl. My first district title! Earlier this season, I ran the same course and had a 19:49.

Started in Walla Walla, WA, traveling to Florence, OR. Spent 3 days running at the state park and doing workouts while having workshops that taught us more about being a better runner. Traveled to Eugene and ran in an Oregon Track Club Allcomers meet where I had my best 1500 at Hayward field, a 5:19. Traveled back to Walla Walla on Friday

Met with college coaches and discussed what they were wanting in their future athletes.
