Growing up my intentions were always to continue my sports career in college. However, it was not until my freshman year of high school that I decided on track and field. After playing softball for 12 years I wanted to try something new. Since I pitched, have a natural muscular build, and a preference for lifting my coach and I found throwing to be a good fit.
After one season of track I knew I had a bright future as long as I worked hard for my accomplishments. Although I balance school, a job, and many other factors, I maintained a goal to find time each day to workout. To continue advancing my knowledge of how to increase muscle mass, I have taken classes that focus on correct lifting form, techniques, and warm up exercises to target the muscle group I am working with for the day.
Outside of the throwing rings and in school I am also very successful. Earning all A's, I expect great things academically from myself. Self motivated, leadership abilities, willingness to learn, and responsible are only some of the characteristics that determine my prosperity. Since freshman year I have taken great pride in the hard work that I put into earning my grades. Over past years I have taken accelerated classes and this coming year I will be taking multiple AP classes along with some accelerated ones as well.
Outside of school and track I work a part time job with my father at our home based lawn and landscaping family business. I work every Monday through Saturday in the summer from dawn to dusk and every day after school until 7 p.m. Also outside of school, I tutor peers with any core subject. This allows me to refresh my knowledge of past subjects or continue my education of subjects I am learning.
