Amelia Novy '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Amelia Novy and I am a 5'7'' libero/defensive specialist. My first encounter with volleyball was in 6th grade at a camp that took place at the University of Alabama. That same year I tried out for my middle school's 7th grade team and made it. When I heard the news, I made my final decision to make the switch from soccer, which I had played since I was in kindergarten, to volleyball. I fell in love with volleyball almost immediately. My lack of experience on the court forced me to work extra hard, and even now that I have more experience my drive to learn and improve has stayed with me. I am a leader that leads by example and I have been the captain of every team I've been on since my 2012 club season. I have always known that I wanted to go to college and further my education, to be able to continue my career in volleyball while doing so would be a dream come true. Volleyball is my passion and I want to play it for as long as I can!
