Personal Statement
Ever since I first laid hands on a volleyball, I knew that the sport would be something that I would enjoy and grow to love with a passion. I started playing volleyball when I was in fifth grade, and I knew that volleyball would be my passion. My dream is to some day earn a college degree and play at the NCAA Division 1 level. In order to accomplish this goal, I realize it will take a lot of hard work and dedication. I have learned through my parents’ help that anything can be accomplished.
I am currently attending Buckhorn High School in New Market, Alabama. I will be graduating in 2019. Before my junior year, I attended a Catholic school since kindergarden. I spend my free time helping others, spending time with my family, and playing club and school volleyball and varsity school soccer.
I work very hard to succeed in school. I have a busy schedule due working out at least twice a week at the D1 gym along with practicing with my club team three days a week, while completing all of my homework and studying for school, and this has taught me to manage my time both academically and athletically. I will be looking for a school that has a strong academic advisory program that is interested in my academic success of pursuing my goal to be an orthopedic surgeon.
I am a libero or a defensive specialist looking for a program that can showcase all of my abilities and skills. I started at a young age as a setter and a right side attacker. I am experienced in all positions, and I am willing to play whatever position that will help my team. I am confident in my skills and feel I can impact your program in any way needed. I am willing to play close to home, or all the way across the country. Hopefully I am on your radar, so I may fufil my passion of playing college volleyball.
Sincerely,
Alex Pressnell
