Personal Statement

I'm a hard working athlete and a harder working student. I've grown up in a large family, my dad being one of nine, so competition has always been a way of life. I look to transfer my competitive nature to my collegiate academics and game play.  For 10 years I did competitive gymnastics and credit that for my athletic build and self drive to be the best possible athlete I can be. However, after noticing (and being told) I was a good foot taller than the other girls it was my time to retire. Luckily, in 8th grade a PE coach of mine told me to try out for the school volleyball team, and I fell in love. 8th grade was a little late in the game but I have worked hard to make myself just as good as those who have played their entire life. I play for the love of the game and the great relationships made with a team. I'm excited for my future collegiate volleyball experience and am looking forward to a team I can make a difference with.
