Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Madissen Howard. I live in Phoenix, Arizona and I attend Sunnyslope High School. I played on Junior Varsity my Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years and started all years playing. Sunnyslope was placed in Arizona's D1 division this year. MaxPreps has listed Sunnyslope as 71st in the Nation and 5th in the State. I have been playing volleyball for 9 years, and I grow to love the sport more and more every time I step on the court. In the past I played at Arizona Desert Sky for 2 years, and Arizona Storm for 2 years. Currently I play for Arizona Sky 18 National team as a starting opposite hitter. Although my predominate position is outside hitter, I've been coached for numerous positions, including outside hitter, defensive specialist, and setter. Outside of volleyball I train at Phoenix BroFit with Brian Lang. We work on dead lifting (121 lbs), squats, strength and agility. I also attend individualized training with various coaches to improve my skills, as well as collegiate camps and clinics. My 14's year I was selected as an alternate as outside hitter in High Performance and plan to try out again this year. I do not have a preferred size of college, but I would like to attend a college on the West Coast or Midwest. I have a strong work ethic and will apply myself to my highest ability in college, on and off the court. I have a strong passion for this game and an even bigger passion to play in college, and hope to one day be able to perform in the Olympic Games. I would like to major in the sports psychology or management field, I am currently undecided on a specific field of study.
