Personal Statement
I've been playing competitive volleyball for 6 years and like most recruit candidates I've dreamt of playing college volleyball for as long as I can remember. Some people have tried to talk me out of pursuing this dream because I'm small in stature, but trust me, my game is bigger than I am and no on will stand in my way. When I practice, there is no ball too tough to run down or any set not good enough to hit. I practice like I play and try to encourage my teammates to play the same. I like to come early and stay late at practice to get more reps in and I train harder in the off season in the weight room to be the best I can be. I try to lead by example and never settle for mediocrity. I consider myself to be a versatile player and I have played every single position since starting which has made me a very well rounded player.
As a student athlete, I recognize that the classroom is just as important and my GPA of 3.75 in academically challenging courses reflects my effort in that area. I am a member of our National Honor Society and a co-editor of our yearbook publication. While I haven't decided on an academic focus in college, I do know that my interests are in the areas of human growth and development; simply stated, I just want to help people in any way I can.
As a possible recruit I want to play at the most competitive college or university that I am a good fit for. I am willing to work harder than anyone to contribute my strengths to a program that sees my potential.
