Jessica Bell '16 Recruiting Profile

I play volleyball with passion, but I am nothing with out my teammates.  In everything I do on and off the court, I put my team first.  I practice how I play.  I play every point as if it were game point.  I am coachable and dependable.  I am versatile player and can play Opposite, Outside Hitter, Middle Blocker and Setter.  My coaches play me in the position I can help the team the most.  I communicate on the court and cheer on my teammates as we battle.  

I lead by example.  I show my teammates what I am willing to give and what they can expect from, not just at game time, but also at every practice.  I have been playing volleyball for 5 years and have never stopped loving the game.  Last year my Varsity coach would play me one game as Opposite, one game as Outside and then one game as Middle Blocker.  Eventually he found I was most effective for the team playing Opposite.  My Club coach needed me to play Middle Blocker, so I did what was best for the team. 

This year during school season, I have two new coaches.  They have me rotating between playing Outside Hitter and Middle Blocker.  They may even have me play Opposite too.   If you ask me what position I would like to play, I would say Opposite as my first choice, but  I just want to play volleyball.

I spend 2 hours a day in the gym with my team.  I also like to spend extra time performing my strength and conditioning workout and work one on one with my personal coach. i am always looking at ways to improve my technique and become a better player.  My work ethic is a strength.  I pride myself in playing all out, all game, all season.  That is the only way I know how to play!

I attend Chandler Preparatory Academy that offers only Honors classes to it's students.  I know how to balance my life in academics and athletics.  I also work at a part-time job on the weekends.  I am a well rounded young lady with good character and high values.  I am looking for the right college to pursuit my education and be a valuable asset to their volleyball team too.
