Sarah Marinez '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sarah Marinez, and I have been playing volleyball since I was 9 years old. I've been through many sports: softball, karate, soccer, swim, gymnastics, baton, basketball, but I've never been more emotionally attached to any other sport until I began playing volleyball. Ever since then, I knew I wanted to play volleyball at a collegiate level. I want to play at that next level, and I know college volleyball has that, and also; I want to be happy the next four years in college and volleyball does just that, as cheesy as that sounds. 

Volleyball has taught me to be a leader on and off the court. I have learned life lessons from playing with and around such a diverse group of girls during club and high school season, and I couldn't thank volleyball enough for making me grow as an individual and athlete. I am such a motivated person on the court during games, and also during practice. I want to push myself and others to their absolute limit. 

My main purpose and motive during volleyball is to learn. I strive to better myself and I take advantage of every piece of advice that coaches have to feed me. I want to learn, and I want to do, and I want to improve. I want to find the best college that can give me the upmost competition while also giving me the education I yearn for.
