Personal Statement
I love volleyball and I love winning. I hate losing more than I love winning. I am a very competitive player and work hard to do my best, both on and off the court. I want to play college volleyball for a winning team -- surrounded by coaches and players who all have a winning attitude, strong work ethic, and live lives of integrity. I am a hard worker and committed to the success of my team.
One of my strengths as a player is that I am very coachable. I listen to and trust my coaches and do my best to follow their instructions with exactness.
I am a leader and lead my team by example and encouragement, and I am enthusiastic about, and committed to, our success. I see the court well and can read the defense. I have clean hands, can dump the ball when appropriate, and I strive to help my teammates be the best that they can be, not only in the gym, but in all aspects of their lives.
I attended my first volleyball camp when I was eight years old and have been playing competitively since my sixth grade year of middle school. My love and understanding for the sport has only grown since then. I continue to go to camps, have participated in club volleyball since 2013, and I play for my high school varsity team. I also occasionally volunteer to help with younger athletes.
I am very serious about my education, as well. I love to learn and want to continue to learn in my life after high school. I will continue the strong study habits that I've developed during high school and maintain a high GPA as I acquire my college education and degree.
