Personal Statement
My name is Mina Grant; I'm a Mexican American senior at Culver City High School and graduate in 2015. I've been playing school and club volleyball for 5 years and for three of those years, I've been playing Libero and I love it. Being the Libero of my team means everything to me, because it allows me to be a part of every play and be the leader for back row. In my freshman year, I was the starting Libero, beating out 1 junior and a senior. Competition is what I live for and I believe it pushes me to become a better player, as well as a better person. Although Athletics is important to me, staying focused on school is another high priority of mine. This year, as a senior, I'm taking 2 AP classes: AP Statistics and AP Macroeconomics. Both are rigorous college level courses and demand a lot of work. After high school, I aspire to become a Vet Tech or a Vet. Helping animals has been a part of my life since I was a young girl. I always had a house full of animals, it was like my own personal zoo that I loved. In addition to pursuing my degree, I also want to play college volleyball. I'm very open to any program, whether it be D1, D2, or D3. What sets me apart from any other libero is my accuracy and my consistency. I can place the ball on any target. I am competitive and I know I will be an asset to any team I go to.
