Personal Statement
Hello my name is Kaitlyn Foster, I live in Elk Grove, CA and I will be graduating from Franklin High School in 2016. I first started playing club volleyball when I was in 4th grade and have continued to pursue my passion for the sport ever since. Since I first started playing, I have been a versatile player, for I am able to play Middle, Outside, and Opposite. Besides my practice three days a week, I go to the gym at least three days a week at 5am so that I can get stronger and improve my skills, and I also have worked with Griff Joyce and Addie Hauschild in semi-private practices.
I am very hardworking and dedicated on and off the court, for my academics and other extracurricular activities are very important to me. Along with being a member of the varsity volleyball team, I am a two year Link Crew leader and three year Leadership Representative, where I currently hold an Appointed Officer position. I have also been a part of the National Honor Society for two years, where I have earned the Bronze award for Community Service. My work in the classroom has translated to my involvement in the California Scholarship Federation and the STEM Academy (School of Technology, Engineering, and Media).
I am interested in playing volleyball at the collegiate level with strong academic opportunities. Some possible majors and minors I am considering is Broadcast Journalism, International Relations, and Communications. I am willing to move out of state for college and I look forward to creating these connections in the future. Feel free to explore my profile to see all of the academic and athletic contributions I have to offer. Thank you for your time!
