Personal Statement
As a kid growing up, I went through a handful of different sports, ranging from soccer to softball, until I finally settled on gymnastics. Gymnastics immediately became my passion and my life, and I competed from the age of three to thirteen. I will forever be grateful for the valuable leadership lessons I learned that I can use in all aspects of my life.
Following gymnastics, I knew I wanted to continue on as an athlete, and soon after, I chose to pursue volleyball. I began at Golden West Volleyball Club at age fourteen, trying out the sport for the very first time. Through the highs and lows of my first year, I was able to keep my head up and truly begin to love the sport. Fortunately, gymnastics had taught me a great deal of discipline and the capability of being a quick learner, which I have been able to apply to volleyball. On the court, I am competitive and determined to play my hardest and sacrifice myself for the team. Off the court, I am supportive of my teammates and will always be there for them.
In school, I have always been able to maintain a high GPA and I am ranked in the top 10% of my class. A good education is central to what I am searching for in a college. Beyond that, playing collegiate volleyball would be the experience of a lifetime.
