Hi, my name is Sara Dickerson. I am 17 years old and a junior at El Dorado High School. I play varsity volleyball for El Dorado and have been their starting setter since my freshman year. We play in the Century Conference, Division 1A ranking 89th out of 242 D1A schools in California. My freshman and junior years I received honorable mention All-Conference and my sophomore year I was number two in aces served for my team.
I started playing volleyball when I was nine for my school team. At ten I started club and have been a starting setter, as well as captain/court captain for my club teams since my 3rd year. During my 14u club season our team won second place at the AAU Junior National Championships in Orlando Florida and I was named as an All American. My club team this year played D2 gold division and competed against the top level teams in the SCVA.
I’m a good student and carried a 3.6 during both my school and club seasons. In addition to volleyball and school, I also like to hang out with my friends. We’re involved in school fundraisers, as well as running the snack bar at both volleyball and baseball games. For the past three summers we’ve been giving back to younger players by volunteering our time with a city-run volleyball camp.
I plan to study nursing, biology, kinesiology, or sports medicine in college. My goal is to find a home in an NCAA volleyball program at a school that offers a wide range of academic options, where I can learn from new coaches and teammates, and be a solid contributor.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me!
Sara
