Personal Statement
I began playing volleyball my freshman year and immediately had a passion for the sport. After playing competitively in club, my goal is to continue to compete in college at the highest level that I am capable of. I'm a middle blocker/opposite but I'm willing to play any position that the coach needs me to in order to help the team. I'm a leader on the court and I try to encourage my team so we can compete as well as we can.
I was a starting middle blocker on Point Loma High's Varsity team my sophomore and junior year. This most recent season, we finished 24-9 and I helped lead my time to win the San Diego Division 1 CIF Championship. This was the first time Point Loma has ever won a CIF Championship.
I play sand volleyball as well. I've played sand for my high school for the past two years along with 692West. So far this Summer, my partner and I have placed in the top three every CBVA tournament.
I was involved in Student Government as the Sophomore Class President at Point Loma High School. I continued to volunteer in Student Government as a Junior even though I didn't take the class. I'll be returning as Comissioner of Activities my senior year. I'm also involved in the Link Crew program to help tutor freshman.
I was an assistant coach at Sunset-Coast Volleyball Club with the 12s local team that my younger sister plays on. I also have a part time job as a hostess at the Bali Hai Restaraunt.
When I find free time, I enjoy taking photos or directing personal music videos. I'm passionate about video production as well and I consider it an option to study in college. I'm also interested in studying sports psychology or business but I'm staying open minded when it comes to my major.
