Personal Statement
I am a physical, mental and spiritual volleyball player. My dedication to the sport has increased my physical strength, my mental dedication and my spiritual focus. I am a team leader, encouraging and assisting my teammates as often as I can both on and off the court. Several school and club coaches have told me that I have improved tremendously because I am very coachable. I listen, absorb and work to apply the skills they have given to me until I have mastered the techniques. My arm swing is very strong and my defensive capabilities also add value to my game.
Outside of volleyball I participate in many extracurricular activities, including National Charity League. NCL is a mother/daughter philanthropic organization where we provide our time and commitment to support many charities in our local community. I have enjoyed spending time with my Mom over the past several years serving the less fortunate and I look forward to continuing with this endeavor after I graduate.
In the Spring (while continuing my volleyball skills on the club team) I also compete in Track and Field. I've thrown the shot and discus on the Varsity level since my freshman year and I am also the reigning League Champion in the shot put. I also hold the school record for discus and was the only female thrower to qualify for CIF during my Sophomore year.
While throwing for Track and Field has improved my arm strength in the off season, Volleyball is my true passion and I look forward to playing at the collegiate level.
