Hello . . . my name is Lauren Danna and volleyball is my game. I have been playing since I was 12 years old and I have an indescribable passion for the game. This game has taught me major life skills both on and off the court. Playing varsity level sports since I was a freshman, plus club volleyball since the age of 12, has taught me how to juggle my rigorous academic and sports schedule , while keeping my 4.0+ GPA. I am a leader both on and off the court. I always try to be positive and be there for my teammates by encouraging them and by keeping the team focused on playing their best. Although I consider myself an athletic player, I am also a "smart" player. I try to think ahead, make smart moves and put strategies to use. Pressure? I love it! It drives me . . . the close games, the close sets, are my favorite. While volleyball keeps me extremely busy, I also work part time and enjoy many other activities including soccer, snowboarding, wake boarding and hunting.
My desire for college is to be able to match my high academic endeavors with a great college volleyball program and experience all that college has to offer me. I have little fear of leaving home and am looking forward to the next chapter of my life. Attending college sounds exciting, but playing volleyball in college sounds like an amazing dream. This dream keeps me highly motivated and every day I work and will work harder and harder until that dream turns into reality. I know there is always room for improvement and I have accepted that fact so I am always looking to develop new skills or improve on other ones, striving for growth each time. I attend camps, clinics and specialized training whenever possible and play beach volleyball during the summer. I pride myself on my work ethic and know this skill will set me apart both on the court and in college. Although I am not certain yet about what I want to study when I attend college, I do know that whatever I do choose to pursue, I will put just as much effort into succeeding at it as I do my athletics. I have a lot to gain and a lot to offer . . . . .
