Alexandria Parisian '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Alexandria Parisian and I am currently a junior attending Apple Valley High School in Apple Valley, California (Class of 2018).  A huge attraction for me is a college that  offers the discipline I am pursuing, Communications Studies, Broadcasting, or Journalism. I am an active volleyball player both in high school and in club. I am interested in learning more about your volleyball program. Here are a few quick facts about me:

I am a hard worker guided by values of integrity, trust, leadership, respect, commitment, and diligence. My personal integrity is hugely important to me and definitely a big part of my value system. It defines who I am on and off the volleyball court. Much like the rules of a game, my values govern the way I think, act, treat others, and ultimately influences the decisions I make. It translates into my home, school, and team environment, requiring a level of commitment and consistency. In my view, there are no two sets of rules in life. My values are the rules and they serve a purpose; to guide me to do what I know is right in my heart, and to make righteous decisions even when no one is watching. I’d like to think that I am an honest and trustworthy person someone you can count on. On the volleyball court, it’s important that my teammates can trust and count on me. I want to be seen as contributing a positive attitude and atmosphere. I also believe it is each player’s responsibility to pull for each other, even when competing for the same position, because each player is vital to the success of a team. In sum, my integrity has been my moral and ethical compass. It builds character and trust and earns the respect of others. I have had the greatest honor of being selected as a leader or team captain by my coaches because they believe I have the ability to inspire teammates with encouraging words and bring a dynamic driving force to the game that builds momentum and confidence in the team.
