Personal Statement
I'm Tammy Byrne an all around outside from California. I have been playing high level volleyball since I was in 5th grade and I am determined to keep at that level for my college career. My club team has gone to Nationals every year since 12s and we have always placed very high, but this past season we won Bronze in the Open division. I have been the starting OH2 on everyone of my teams since my first year of volleyball, but I am currently deciding on wether to play outside or DS in college. Volleyball has had a huge impact on my life but school is my number one priority. I have received honors for my grades every year of high school and I am one of the few student athletes from my school to keep above a 3.5 GPA during season. Also I was voted over 3 seniors to be one of the two team captains on my school team. Along with volleyball and school, I have also started a club called Think Pink. It is a breast cancer awareness club, in honor on my mother who passed away from cancer when I was nine years old. My whole life I have been someone my friends and teammates look up to and go to for support. I am a leader but I am also a learner. I have worked hard for many years to get to the level I am at today, both on the court and in the classroom, and I am still working everyday to improve.
