Personal Statement
I have been a competition dancer competing in Tahitian dancing before volleyball. This is where I became so competitive and strive to be good at whatever I do. Going into high school, I wasn't focused on playing any sports, just concentrating on my academics. Throughout my freshman year, a lot of my friends and family suggested I play volleyball because of my height. So I tried out for my high school team and didn't make the cut for varsity. But I did not let that stop me from taking advantage of the situation and excelling on the JV team. Being captain of my high school JV team has taught me many leadership skills and how to communicate with my team better. After high school season, my JV coach asked if I was interested in playing club volleyball to help improve and better understand the position I am playing. I joined Point Break Volleyball Club for my 16s local. Staying determined and committed to become a better player helped me find my passion for volleyball.
