Personal Statement
For the past 4 years I have played primarily Libero for both my high school and club teams and sometimes Defensive Specialist. I would describe myself as a very dedicated hard working athlete. I love the game and work very hard both on and off the court.
On the court I pride myself on my speed and aggressive style of play. I am considered by my coaches to be an impact player as I bring a lot of energy to the court. In 2016 my club team won the gold medal in the Junior Olympics in Indiana for the 16-1 division. This year I am playing varsity for my high school for the third year and look forward to another competitive season of club.
In the classroom I am also a very dedicated student and have learned to stay ahead of my workload… which I have found is a matter of survival when balancing academics with the demands of competitive volleyball. I currently maintain a 3.6 GPA and have a score of 1060 on my first attempt at the SAT.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I greatly enjoy helping my dad in the yard, and spending quality time with my mom who is my role model. I also have a part time job helping kids in my community learn to play volleyball in the parks and recreation program.
I know if given the opportunity, I would be a tremendous asset to your team and outstanding representative of the college.
