My strengths in being a competitive athlete come from many areas of my life. I love playing volleyball and have had tremendous growth in my skill level as a Middle Player during my SoCal Legends Club season on the Girls 18 Elite team. I am tall and strong and can move with power and effectiveness at the net. I am a fast learner and strongly desire to be coached up to higher levels of play. I adapt easily to instruction and desire to be the best player I can be for the team. I have faced many Middle Player opponents and can go head to head with them in blocking, passing and hitting power. I know I can be an asset to any team and am very willing to learn and grow as an athlete and competitive player.
I've learned many important life skills that have made me an excellent communicator, including verbal skills, behavior recognition, sign language and above all, determination. I have great physical strength, I work well in the gym, and have great speed in running. I have learned a lot about taking care of my body and the body muscular system from my Father who is a Massage Therapist. I have grown up with a twin sister who is special needs. Having a special needs family member who is non-verbal and requires all daily living assistance, such as feeding and dressing, has allowed me to handle many tasks and responsibilities and think quickly on my feet.
My family is very supportive of creating a good balance in my life with opportunities to thrive in my athletic endeavors, academic success and personal friendships. I have learned first hand the importance of being compassionate, understanding and patient, which not only is an important part of being in a family, but on a team as well. I see myself as a loving, caring, intensely loyal and generous person who is eager to learn. I love animals and spent a two years volunteering at a Horse Therapy facility for the special needs community. I laugh easily and am a well-rounded happy person too!
I come from a family of Fire Fighters and appreciate the physical and mental commitment it takes to get a job done. I also have many family members who have played Volleyball in High School and College. My Mom played volleyball in High School and was an All City Recipient. Three of my cousins were recruited to play College volleyball, respectively at Pepperdine, Stanford and UC Santa Cruz. I have a deep love of playing volleyball and continuing my family legacies and aspire to excel as an athlete and team player. I am proud of my accomplishments, constantly improving skill level and growth as a volleyball player the past few years playing on the High School Girls Volleyball Team as well as Club Volleyball.
I have interests in many fields of study for College. Teaching, Fire Fighting and Sports Management. With a varied set of interests, I am allowing myself to grow into a field that is a perfect fit for me. I learn quickly and have an excellent memory which makes my academic work enjoyable and achievable. I am working to maintain a 3.5 GPA in High School and aspire to be an equivalent academic College student as well. It is a goal and dream of mine to be a quality and essential Women's Volleyball team member and successful student in College, graduating with a degree in a field where I can give back to the community.
