Personal Statement
In my college years, I aspire to be an amazing student-athlete, and teammate. In my high school years I have played at the varsity level for both volleyball and basketball and have maintained a 3.6 cumulative GPA. Although being a student-athlete may be difficult sometimes, I have learned to work hard on and off the court and in and out of the classroom. Being involved in Student Council, Leadership, Captain's Corner, ALPHA's, and being a captain for both my sports teams for two years I have learned to balance myself between school, athletics, and extra curricular activities. Although I never have a break and play sports and study all year long, I have learned to passionately pursue my dreams and work hard for what I want.
My freshman year was an outstanding year for me. I made varsity for both volleyball and basketball, was accepted into Student Council, and had a solid academic year. My sophomore year I also ran track in addition to playing volleyball and basketball. That volleyball season I earned All-Conference Honorable Mention. Also for my hard work that year I earned the "Female Athlete of the Year" award for the class of 2017! Then junior year began with another incredible season of volleyball. In that season I made Second Team All-Conference in the state of Colorado for all 4A schools. My junior year is also when I decided to play for the Colorado Springs Altitude Volleyball Club on their 17 Navy team. With them, I finished being the #1 hitter on my team with a solid 219 kills on the season. As basketball and club volleyball season came to an end, I was again awarded with the "Female Athlete of the Year" award for the second year in a row for the class of 2017. Going in to my senior year, it is my goal to stay focused in my academics, make First Team All-Conference in the state of Colorado, have a higher number of kills during club season, and to get recruited for the sport of volleyball. As my senior year high school season just came to an end, it was a very successful season for me personally. During the season, I was Gazette Preps "Player of the Week" during the week of Labor Day, and in that article the author talks about my achievements I had had so far during this season. I was also leading the entire state of Colorado in kills!
