Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Christina Perlinger and I am proud to say that I am playing my 7th year of Club Volleyball. Starting from an early age at 11 playing on a 12-1s team, I knew that volleyball would be something that I would want to continue throughout the rest of my life. As I keep moving up age groups in Club I feel that I have become more driven, focused, and really wanting to achieve the goal of playing volleyball in college. Last Club season on Rocky Select 16-1, we got 1st at Regionals which got us the National bid to the Junior National Championships. That feeling of accomplishment has made me even more competitive and driven to not only make it to Nationals, but finish in the top 8 when we get there.
I completed my first semester as a Junior at ThunderRidge High School and my GPA was a 3.83. My cumulative GPA is now a 3.5 and my class rank is 144 out of 494 students. When it comes to High School, academics come first for me.
After playing the Middle position for 6 years, I made the transition to the Outside Hitter position. During the high school season I played OH and finished the season with 267 kills, 209 digs, and 368 successful serve receives. I am also playing OH during the club season on Rocky Select 17-1s. Although I have loved playing Middle throughout the years, I feel that playing Outside gives me the opportunity to play and excel in all aspects of the game such as serving, serve receive, defense, etc. By making this transition I have become a more versatile player, and I am glad that I have the opportunity to do so.
I want to go to a College that has a high standard of Academics and would love the opportunity to play volleyball and be a part of a winning team! I am open to any opportunities to play volleyball, so I will consider any size of school and location. Thank you for your consideration.
