Christina Drexel '14 Recruiting Profile

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned while playing volleyball is the only things you can control are attitude, concentration and effort. I bring a positive energy to the court by working hard, keeping my own attitude positive, and helping my teammates to stay up. I have been fortunate enough to be selected as captain for 3 out of my 5 club volleyball teams as well as the Varsity captain this year and have tried to model the work ethic and attitude needed to win. I am excited to go to practice every day, seeking to learn more and improve. I am highly coachable; I listen and adapt to different situations as needed. I have been an athlete for most of my life, playing recreational and club soccer for 9 years prior to finding volleyball. Once I discovered volleyball, I devoted myself to this one sport because I love it so much.  I play 2’s, 4’s, sand, and grass, in addition to indoor volleyball. I currently play with a Division 1 Adult Sand 4’s team. I just finished my high school season averaging 4.5 digs/set and earning Northern League All-Conference honorable mention. In the future, I would like to coach girls volleyball, starting at the club level and taking it as far as I can go. I am seeking an education that will support a career in physical therapy, where I can help not only athletes, but anyone overcoming injury.
