Personal Statement

My name is Piper Thompson. I attend Legend High School in Parker, CO. I am currently a senior. I started volleyball when I was in 7th grade in Edmond, OK. I started as a middle then moved to a right side and in eighth grade/freshman year, I became a setter. My freshman year, I played on the sophomore team.  I have played on my high school varsity team since my sophomore year. I was selected for and attended a USA Volleyball summer camp after my Freshman year.  I am old for my grade, which means I play up an age bracket in club volleyball. I am on a 18-1's team at my volleyball club, Elevation, in Colorado.  Volleyball has always been something I love to do.  I love to improve my game and am always excited to have a coach that challenges me to be better.  I also like to study the game and understand ways to change what our team is doing to take advantage of the way certain players play.  I am excited to play volleyball at the college level.

I have other activities outside volleyball as well.  I helped start FCA, (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), in my school and am currently serving in a leadership role for the organization. I was selected as a "Link Crew Leader" which helps incoming freshman integrate more positively into the high school world.  I also coached a 3rd/4th grade volleyball team for our town's recreation department, Parker Recreation.  It was really fun to coach and see the girls love the game.  My GPA is 3.71 right now. I have take several AP and Honors courses throughout high school and am in AP Calculus currently. My freshman year I received Art Student of the year award.  I plan to attend college for a bachelor's degree and probably a master's degree.  I am interested in architecture and art but don't know exactly what I want to do yet. I know I want to be a part of building a great culture of winning where ever I go.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
