Volleyball is very important to me as it displays and teaches many traits that I value. It allows me to show my work ethic and just how hard I am willing to work to achieve my goals. This sport also develops my leadership and teamwork skills which I believe are valuable on the court and throughout my life. I love volleyball because of its ability to distract me from stress and connects me to people that I love to spend time with. While I play, I love seeing myself and others improve and accomplish things we didn't see possible. The court is the place I feel most comfortable, and I hope I can continue to play for a long time.
I started playing volleyball in the summer of 2022 and fell in love with the sport. Before, I had done competitive gymnastics for around ten years. I played volleyball in the developmental league and was then offered a spot as a defensive specialist on the 14 National 1 team at The EDGE Volleyball Club. Although inexperienced, I was willing to work hard so that I could catch up to the other players on the team. I am incredibly grateful for this experience as it created my obsession with this sport and developed my skills more than I ever thought possible. Since then, I was given the opportunity to be my schools' Junior Varsity captain as an outside hitter and defensive specialist, as well as a swing player for Varsity. I was able to play middle back and outside for varsity several times and participated in our teams post-season regional tournament. This year I am playing for The EDGE Volleyball Club 15 National 1 team as a defensive specialist or libero.
