Personal Statement
Please note: Most of the video is from 2 years ago, with the exception of the ones titled HPU Practice and Davidson. Davidson is from August of 2018 and it was during warm ups of that game that I hurt my leg which caused me to red-shirt. The HPU Practice video is from January.
I just completed my first season at High Point University. HPU won the Big South Conference and qualified for the NCAA tournament for the 3rd straight year. I was red-shirted this year and still have 4 years of eligibility. I am on the NCAA Transfer Portal and available for the fall semester.
I am seeking an environment where I can challenge myself academically and athletically. I am studying Exercise Science/Athletic Training at HPU but not sure if I am going to continue to pursue this discipline. In high school I lead my HS team to FCIAC and State Championships in 2016 and was named MVP for both of those tournaments. I set school records for career blocks and kills as well as single season blocks and kills. I also gained some other awards along the way: 1st Team All State (2016 & 2017), 1st Team All FCIAC (2016 & 2017), MaxPreps 2016 Jr. All American, MaxPreps 2017 Pre-Season All American, Athlete of the Year for the city of Stamford, but I am most proud of the FCIAC Scholar Athlete. Carrying a challenging course load of honors and AP classes and being recognized for the hard work in the classroom while balancing a Volleyball and Basketball schedule is very rewarding.
It is that work ethic and dedication that I carry into all aspects of my life: academic, athletic, personal relationships, team relationships and of course family. There is no one that works harder on the court than me and I know I would be a great asset to a competitive collegiate volleyball team. As a starter on two state championship teams in two different sports, I know what it takes to win on the court and in life.
