Personal Statement
I am a committed student and athlete with an international background. Born in Argentina, I spent 2 years in Spain and have lived in Connecticut since 2009. With no previous experience, I joined the volleyball team at GHS my freshman year, and never stopped playing since. This sport quickly became my passion, and I cannot imagine college without volleyball.
I have been the starting libero for my club and high school varsity teams for the last two seasons, reaching FCIAC (Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference) semi-finals both years and earning the runner-up position in States during my junior year. I am a competitive athlete focused on achieving results. I have a strategic role in identifying other teams' weaknesses and making sure we exploit them. My energy and resilience help my teams remain calm and with a positive attitude. Most importantly, my ability to adapt to change and deliver under pressure, both in life and in volleyball, make me a valuable addition to any team. My goal is to bring these qualities to the collegiate level.
I find that challenging myself on the court is just as relevant as doing so in academics. So far, I have enrolled in 5 AP classes. My GPA has improved every year and I am committed to continue pushing myself to the highest possible level. I am most passionate about math, but I like to succeed in all my classes. Outside of school, and when I am not playing volleyball, I love to spend time with friends and family.
