Nadia Sotgiu '17 Recruiting Profile

I am very passionate about volleyball. My dream, since I first started playing in eighth grade, has been to play at the collegiate level. My determination and positive attitude are two of my greatest strengths, and have brought me far as an athlete. Every time I go to practice, my goal is to leave a better player than I was at the beginning of practice. I give 100% every time I step on the court and I push myself to the limit.

I am an all around player and play libero, defensive specialist and outside hitter. My strengths are my great passing skills, good ball control, and a high volleyball IQ, On every team I have played on I have been a starter who plays all six rotations and I have been selected as captain of my high school varsity team (junior year). In my Sophomore year I earned honorable mention honors in the FCIAC for my tremendous effort diving for balls, making plays, and turning games around. Striving to be an outstanding athlete, leader, and student, I want to have a positive influence and be a role model for my teammates and peers. 

As well as pushing myself on the court, I also push myself as a student. I take every opportunity to challenge myself and work hard to be successful. As a sophomore, I took two challenging AP classes, and am continuing my junior year with three AP classes. My great efforts in school and volleyball have taught me a lot about perseverance, teamwork, and attitude. I want to bring these qualities to a college team, and be an influential person both on and off the court.
