Volleyball has provided me with so many positive attributes.  Being a good communicator, being open minded to new techniques and skills, and being a positive individual towards my team and my opponents are a few attributes I have gain from this sport.  On the court, communication keeps the volley going and hopefully scores the point.  If not, it helps me learn what adjustments to make in order to correct myself in order to gain the ball back.  Being open minded to new techniques and skills allows me to be continually improving and growing in a sport I love.  Being positive towards my team and my opponents forms a bond among my peers like no other.  Supporting one another through our successes and our deficiencies is what life is all about ultimately.  Every day brings about a new opportunity to learn from the past and take on the future.

Because of my military upbringing, I am able to take on adversity without fear.  By the time I entered high school, I had moved six times.  I walked into tryouts my freshman year in a new state two days after moving completely across the country.  I knew no one but I still walked in, worked hard,  and made the team.  The following year we moved back across the country and I walked into a new gym once again.  My love of the game is what makes me push away that fear of uncertainty. I cannot dwell on things I cannot control.  Each situation brings on a new opportunity.  This is what sets me apart from the rest.  Every day in every way everyone I meet is going through something I know nothing about.  My goal is to do my best at realizing everyone faces adversity and be as supportive as I can as we all take on whatever we have been given.  

Playing volleyball in college would be a true honor.  I tried everything from track to basketball even ballet but nothing stuck. Once I got on the volleyball court I fell in love. Being on the court with my team is so fulfilling, everyone working together for a common goal.  We win together, we learn together.  The ability to be a part of something bigger than me is what I love about it.  Each set allows us to succeed or learn 25 times.  That is awesome.
