Paola Rios '15 Recruiting Profile

I love playing sports, it just the essence of it that makes me feel the passion of the challenge, the advantage, the strategy, the action of the game is just the ultimate feeling. Has student-athlete, I aim to keep that energy has part of my student life in college. I'm an all-around player, and I go beyond what is required during practice to be a better player at the sport I love. I play both high school varsity and club volleyball and work with my Dad on physical training aspects extensively outside of the daily practices; especially the metal endurance of the game and life; By staying competitively physically and mentally it's given me an advantage, when I step on the court especially the self-control of a positive mind; The enthusiasm and always having the confidence to maintain all aspect of the game on check..  My game is a team sport, and I always hold my team together when the game is not working for us, I add the mental strength to get back on the game, and most important always share with my teammates to believe in ourselves. In the positions, I play am always ready, and I pass and dig balls to the setter, cover all my hitters, and read the opponents players for spikes. Offensively, I have a float strong served, and a lefty top-spin serve, and I have a great resources for blocking and hitting.

In the school am always learning looking to enrich academically and also dedicated to learning outside the classroom. My studies are very important to me, but also my dedication and passion to the sport, I have learned and practice to rely on keeping a balance in life, and also I have learned that by being a balance Student-Athlete will give me the advantage I need to be happy. That balance gives me the ability to manage all the aspect of life; that is why; I'm a great listener because by listening we learn, and I’m a great learner of life especially in school, sports, and to grow has a productive individual.
