Personal Statement
**Update** 5/8/2015 I have accepted the opportunity to cheer at Florida Atlantic University and will continue to play club volleyball there**
I was selected to play in the Conference Senior All-Star Game-January 5th at Eastern Florida State College. Only the top 24 Seniors were selected.
I am Morgan Howard and I am ready to play at the next level and be a successful addition to your team! I have played volleyball, both club and school since 2008. This year I am playing LIBERO and averaging 4.6 digs per set-366 overall which is 3rd in the conference! I was also a competitive gymnast, Varsity Tennis Player, and Varsity Cheerleader. I play beach volleyball to assist with my strength and endurance. I am extremely strong, quick and agile from both beach volleyball and gymnastics.
Even though my time was spread thin with athletics and extra-curricular activities, I still maintained over a 3.0 (unweighted) GPA while taking Honor's classes and volunteering over 60 hours so far. I am aggressive on the court and assertive in the classroom. I have been taught to seek out feedback and that criticism is only meant to make me a better student/athlete.
You should know that I am very resilient and have overcome many challenges to be successful in the classroom and on the court. I lost my house in a fire and lived in a hotel for six months and for the last five years my mom has been fighting a health battle-I almost lost her Christmas Eve 2013. While this has all been difficult, I have learned to persevere, balance my priorities and keep a positive attitude. Again, skills that have, and will continue to serve me well as I pursue academics/athletics at the next level.
