Personal Statement
When I first started playing volleyball in fourth grade, my dream was to someday play college volleyball at a high level. My goal today is still the same and I'm searching for a school that will be a great fit on the court and in the classroom .
I'm goal oriented and I have always been the person who works the hardest whether it's been in class or on the court. I enjoy the work and prep almost as much as I love the games. My leadership style is to lead by example. I practice very hard and I will push or pull others around me to try and bring them along so that we all reach our max potential.
I want to win everytime I play but I'm not a poor sport when we lose (ok so I used to cry when we lost). During my first few club seasons I was on some really bad teams and all the losing helped me focus on the process of becoming a better player and teammate. I hated losing and it pushed me to put my energy and effort into being a better player. This is when I learned that to win the weekend I've got to work the week.
In addition to my regular volleyball practices/training I have been working with strength & conditioning coach Mario Lovett for the past three years. Coach Mario is an amazing coach and has helped teach me the value of both physical and mental preparation. He has helped keep my body strong and my mind focused.
My academic goal is simple... Dean's list every semester. I will be an A student.
What sets me apart from others is my drive to be the best I can be. My daily goal is to be 1% better than yesterday. I cannot wait to see what my future holds for me!
