Personal Statement
My name is Heather Goodman and I am a Senior at Lakeland High School in the graduating class of 2017. The sport of Volleyball grabbed my attention when I was in the fifth grade and I have been playing ever since. I began playing club volleyball with Southern Select when I was in the sixth grade where I played for 3 years. I then played for 2 years with the Lakeland Volleyball Academy and 1 year with the Orlando/Tampa Bay Volleyball Academy. This club season I am again with the Orlando/Tampa Bay Volleyball Academy on the 18 Rox White team. I play outside hitter, middle hitter and can play all around the court. I have been blessed with coaches who are willing to utilize me in all these positions making me a better player. The concept of team is very important to me and volleyball is a team sport. I try my best to be the loudest on the court, to get the job done, and to play for my fellow team mates. I believe that I need to play every game like it is my last because you never know what tomorrow brings. Dedication is a major part of volleyball and having the opportunity to dedicate myself to the sport at a college level would be a dream come true.
