Personal Statement
Volleyball has been my passion for as long as I can remember. Throughout my many years of playing, the most important thing that I have learned is that hard work and dedication will pay off in the end. I missed two high school and club seasons due to an injury, but I stuck with it and finished my senior year as captain and MVP. Of course my injury was a setback mentally and physically, however I used it to learn more about the game and to appreciate it even more than I already did. Now I am back and good as new.
During my two high school seasons, I was the go to player. My main position is a pin hitter, yet I can play anywhere on the court. Up until this point, the only position I have not played is libero and I would even be willing to give that a try. While playing, I strive to give 100% as well as be encouraging to my teammates. I do not let my attitude affect me and if I do mess up, I forget about it and move on. In May, before I graduate high school, I will graduate from Polk State College with an AA degree. As you can tell, academics are my top priority, but volleyball is a close second so I am looking for a program that I can excel in both. Because of my dedication, work-ethic, and leadership skills, I know I will be an asset on your college team.
