Volleyball brings out the best in me and when I am on the court, I am exactly who I want to be. I am outgoing, self aware, encouraging, hardworking, and committed to the game and my teammates. I would love to continue using and improving on everything physically and mentally that volleyball has taught me by playing at the collegiate level. My passion for the game has always been consistent and never something I’ve questioned. I am ready to work hard for the goals that I have set for myself.
Balancing school, volleyball, and a social life has taught me decision making and time management skills, and I believe it will continue to prepare me to be a college athlete. When my team and I are practicing in the gym, my mindset is “practice how you play”. I know that if I discipline myself now, it will pay off during long rallies, game points, and so much more. Outside of practice, I condition with workouts that my school volleyball team actively participates in. I pride myself on having my priorities straight. Academics and volleyball will help create a future for me and are the foundation for my success. I also know how important socializing is, and I always make time for it.
What makes me different from others is my all around experience on the court. One example is that I have played with players that have both experience and no experience. Playing with athletes of different skill levels has put me in leadership positions as well as a position where I learn from others. Another way that my experience has helped shape what kind of player I am is that I have played almost every position. I have competitively been an outside, right side, and middle hitter as well as defense in left back, middle back, and right back. I can adjust to play whatever position my team needs.
Having all around experience on the court has made me the leader that I am and only made my passion for volleyball stronger. I am excited to bring all of these qualities and contribute all I have to my future volleyball team.
Thank you for reading my personal statement.
