Personal Statement

I became interested in volleyball in 2011, when my mother was coaching at Marathon High School in Florida. Through volleyball, I have learned to be a leader on and off of the court; It has also helped me stay focused on my short term and long term goals. My short term goals are to graduate high school at the top of my class and a year early. As for my long term goals, they are to coach volleyball after college, continue to volunteer at Piedmont Hospital (Labor and Delivery) and give back to my community. The unique characteristics that I possess are that I am a utility player, a strategic player and a valuable player to my team and potentially yours!

Technical Abilities - 87 Offense - Has a knack for finding the court on the attack, sees the open court, and has the ability to make solid contact. Defense - Aggressive as a defender. Good read on the attack and defensive positioning, and seems to enjoy making the play. Tactical Abilities - 89 Communication - Great communicator; organizes and directs teammates well and communicates frequently. Scrimmage Play - Play was elevated in team activities. Great understanding of your roles and responsibilities within a team. Physical Abilities - 92 Endurance - Great work rate throughout camp. Showed endurance that helped effectiveness, especially late. Explosiveness - Great quickness and explosiveness, especially in the first step or two. This will be an asset in all aspects of the game Mental Abilities - 92 Competitiveness - Showed a strong desire to win and seems to enjoy the competition. Keep working hard! Coachable - Responds well to coaching. Asked good questions and seemed to enjoy the learning process. Coach Comments Hydeah had a great attitude and showed she is a kid you can rely on as she competed in this showcase through an injury. Personally that showed me a lot about her character and desire to want to play at the next level. We as coaches are looking for those athletes we can count on and simply have the desire to compete and push; she is that type of athlete!
