Personal Statement
Aloha! My name is Marissa Daligcon. I am a Senior at Damien Memorial School with a 3.74 GPA. I was on the varsity volleyball team since my freshman year and was voted Honorable Mention in my freshman and senior year. This past season, I was the starting libero, and we placed 2nd in our division and 3rd in States for the second year in a row. After school season, I play for Spike and Serve Volleyball Club run by our director Coach Kevin Wong. This is my 4th season with SASVBC. I bring positivity and humbleness to my team. I have attended HP in the summer of 2013 in Oklahoma and winter of 2013 in Colorado Springs, and again in August 2016 at UNLV. I loved the training and meeting new people from all over the United States. When I am not playing volleyball, I go to Church with my Mom and we volunteer with the Sunday collection. I also volunteer at school for special projects, such as campus beautification, help in the logo shop, and the malasada sale. I also volunteer at the Hawaii Food bank by packing food boxes for senior citizens, and the Friends of the Library by helping out at their book sales. The game of volleyball allows me to step out of my comfort zone and become the best athlete and teammate. My goal is to be a libero or DS in college. My team, SASVBC 18s and I, will be competing in the SVCA Las Vegas Classic from February 17-19th, 2018 (President's Day weekend), at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. in Las Vegas, NV. Please stop by to see me if you will be in town. My jersey number is #7.
