Thank you for viewing my profile! My name is MacKenzie Gropel. I am entering my senior year at Pleasant Valley High School, in Bettendorf, IA. I love the sport of volleyball and want to continue to play following my high school career.
This past club season, I was selected to play on Platform Elite's 17 National Team, with a twist. I was asked to join this team as a brand new setter, the coaches felt that I have enough skill to transition from a hitter to a setter. This season has been extremely fun and I have learned so much. It's been great to work as a setter, having my hitting background gave me the proper perspective knowing where to place the ball.
I am an extremely hard worker, giving my all in both practice and matches. I pride myself in being able to pick the team up when they are down.
Academically I enjoy Math and Science. I look forward to pursuing a career in this area.
Outside of school I volunteer at the local hospital as an Emergency Room Volunteer and work as a Sales Associate at American Eagle.
I look forward to speaking with you about your open positions as I would be a tremendous asset to your team.
See the link below for film of this past club season. You can see how I have improved from the first game to the final game at the 2016 USAV Jr. National Championships.
