Personal Statement
My name is Erica Lampe. I am a high energy/passionate student and volleyball player. I love the challenges of high level volleyball and high level academics. I have played club volleyball for 8 years and school volleyball for 7 years. I will graduate in 2016. I have played all positions at some point during my years of experience. Most recently, I have played outside hitter, right side hitter, and defensive specialist. My goal since I began playing volleyball 8 years ago was to play college volleyball at the highest level I am capable of. I am open to going to all kinds of schools to achieve this goal.
I am an honor student and hold a 3.77 GPA and I look forward to the academic challenges that college will bring.
In 2013, I led my club team, TESL 15 Black to a 1st place finish in the Asics National tournament in Chicago, Illinois. In 2014, my club team, TESL 16 Red placed 3rd overall in USAV nationals 16s Patriot division. In 2015, my high school team won the 4A Regional Tournament. In 2014, my high school team placed 3rd in the Illinois High School Association 3A State Tournament.
I was selected to participate in the A3 level USAV Olympic pipeline training in both 2013 and 2014. I participated in the A3 level training in 2013. I was named to the 2013 St. Louis President’s Day Classic All-Tournament team, and I was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association 2014 National Phenom list class of 2016. I participated in the AVCA 2014 Phenom Prep Program and combine.
My athletic goals are to continually improve my volleyball skills as both an individual contributor and a team player. I will also continue to work to remain a leader and positive role model on and off the court. The most important personal goals that I have are to be a positive influence on my team, my school and the community in which I live.
