Personal Statement
The words of my father have helped to guide me my entire life; moreover, his words have inspired me to set goals and work my hardest to attain them. Since middle school, my dream has been to go to college and play volleyball at a strong educational institution. When you have a dream, my father has always told me to go after it. If I want to achieve something I have to be willing to work for it with one hundred percent dedication. I will always admire my father and how successful he is. He always tells me how important education is for my future. Hearing this from him made me really focus on my school work and how I need to prepare myself for the future. He motivates me every day to keep working hard and to never give up. I have been working very hard the past years to prepare myself mentally and physically to open the doors to all the college volleyball opportunities. I am committed to my educational work, just as much as I am to the game.
My passion for volleyball is strong. Volleyball shows different aspects of who I am. It shows that I am a positive player, an encouraging teammate, and a smart person. I stay positive and cheer on others when they start breaking down. I encourage others to take risks during the game and do something crazy and amazing to remember. I am smart when it comes to volleyball and education. During volleyball I make sure to really concentrate on making sure I place the ball where no other player is. During school I focus on class work and things that can help me improve academically. One of the motivation factors in volleyball for me, as a student-athlete, is the dream of competing at the college level.
