Personal Statement
Hello my name is Erica Grant. I have been playing volleyball since fifth grade but my passion started much earlier. The volleyball game is so intense and so fun that I couldn't get enough. Once I started club, I knew that's what I wanted to do with my life. The amount of stress, sweat, passion, and heart you have to put into this sport was a little overwhelming for a fifth grader. Luckily I had great coaches that explained to me that though there is a lot of time and effort to put in, It's all gonna be worth is in the long run. They've all helped me learn and build my skills to be who I am today. Everyday, I'm learning something new whether it is in high school volleyball for club. I love volleyball and I am set on playing or having a part in it for the rest of my life. In college, I think that having players from all over and of all different ages will not only help me become a more open and outgoing teammate but also help me excel in my skills. There are so many things I can learn from then about life as a college athlete. I'm always willing to learn more about volleyball. It's my life, my sport, my heart and soul. I'm a team player, a leader, and have good discipline skills; all qualities that I will use in the game of volleyball and academics. I'm hoping that all my college years and playing volleyball will help me grow as a responsible adult. Thank you for considering me for your team.
