Personal Statement

I’m a persistent and determined libero, learning from each play and treating it like it was the game point! I’m looking to play college volleyball in 2022 for a team where I can be my ultimate BEST!

My name is Jaslynn Peterson. I started playing volleyball in 3rd grade. During that time, I was a multisport athlete, participating in dance, soccer, gymnastics, and track, going to State two years in a row. In 7thgrade, I dedicated myself fully to volleyball. This is the sport that I was most passionate about. I have played a few different positions and each one has challenged me to learn something new and what that position means to the team. Volleyball has not only created opportunities to learn and grow, it’s given me an opportunity to establish rich relationships.

Outside of volleyball, my studies are my priority. In addition, I volunteer at Prairie View Farms, which is a business whose purpose is to raise and sell cattle. I also babysit as I have a deep love for children. In my future I desire to work in the medical field with children of all ages.

My most important attributes with regards to my college volleyball career is fitting in with my team, playing time and making a positive difference as soon as I can. I have dreamt of playing for a big school, not having a demographic preference at this time. I want to be the differentiator on every team I am on, working my hardest to find ways for all of my teammates to shine. I am a very hardworking athlete, giving my all at every practice and every match. This drive has been a constant and only becomes stronger as I continue to learn and grow.
